


















More than half a billion people in India were affected by draught in 2019. The draught led to the worst water shortage ever that anyone in the country can remember. In the small village Salegaon in the central part of India all the wells were almost dried out and people could only survive because a truck with water came to the village every day. Still many were suffering. Water was too scarce to flush the toilets. Women had to go to the fields making them vulnerable to rape and snake bites. And the farmers worried for their crops.
